There area few famous landmarks arpund the area such as Ueno Park compound which consists of a few gallrries, museums, shrines and even a Zoo, nostalgic shopping street called Ameyoko, a few traditional sweets shops such as Mihashi, and so on.
There are hundreds of bars around Ueno which makes Ueno much more interesting.
Those bar streets are located on the south from the station and there are a few bars which places tables on the public road which is a traditional way to solve the overpopulation in peak hours. People there are quite talkative that we would like to recommend to have some conversations with locals while surrounded by Japanese common culture.
