Downhill Mountain Biking at Aizukougen and Trekking
IntroductionDo you like downhill mountain biking? Have you ever wanted to try in Japan or wanted to try in general? Do you want to leave the busy city life a bit and relax in the countryside for a day? Then this tour will be perfect for you.
With this tour for the first day you will be traveling from Asakusa station to Aizu-Kogen-Oze-guchi station. Ticket will be sent to your staying hotel in Tokyo 23 wards.
After you arrive at Aizu-Kogen-Oze-guchi station, there will be pick up service to Hotel. After you have a lunch, let's start biking down the mountain. There are 3 different courses from beginner to intermediate level. You will have about 3 hours so you why don't you try all of the courses. Of course you do not have to worry about the safety, its a very safe track and if anything happens theres a staff nearby to help you out. After you have fun at the mountain, go and relax at the hotel where there is a Japanese hot spring, take a dip and feel the stress melt away.
Then on the next day you will be a heading to the Oku-Nikko area where there you will meet with your trekking guide and will start your trekking adventure for the day. You will be trekking at the Senjogahara Marshland.
The Senjogahara Marshland, located at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level, covering the plateau between Lake Chuzenji and Yumoto Onsen. This area offers the best hiking spot in the Nikko National Park offering an magnificent view of the marshland and mountains and of course the beauty of the nature of the area.
About 20 thousand years ago, when Mount Nantai erupted it formed a giant lake which is known as Lake Chuzenji. The name Senjogahara literally means Battlefield, the name comes from a legend of a battle between two gods who fought for the ownership of the beautiful Lake Chuzenji. The gods were Mt. Nantai who changed himself into a lot of snakes, and Mt. Akagi who changed himself into many centipedes.
Who won the battle? Come to the Senjogahara where the guide will explain to you all about the legend and the outcome of the battle and of course show you the beautiful nature of Nikko.

Reservations may be cancelled without charge up to 8 days prior to the program date.
Reservations cancelled less than 7 days before the program date will incur the following charges:
- Between 7 days and 5 days: 30% of the program charge
- Between 4 days and 2 days: 50% of the program charge
- The day before the date of travel: 80% of the program charge
- Less than a day or no show: 100% of the program charge
