Learn About Shintoism with a Priest and Shrine Maiden in Odawara
IntroductionDo you know the difference between a Temple and a Shrine? Do you wan't to go to a shrine but not sure about the manner and rules? Then this experience is for you!
With this tour you will be able to learn about Shintoism at the scared grounds of the Hotoku Ninomiya Shrine.
You will be met with a priest who will show you the basic manners and etiquette when entering in a shrine. From the way to purify yourself to the way of praying and everything in between you will learn today.
You will also have the chance to write your wish onto a votive Shinto tablet, called the Ema. These are the wooden plates that you may had seen when visiting a shrine in Japan. You will be able to write your own wish and understand the history behind these tablet as well.
There are also ceremonial events during the tour such as offering a scared tree and seeing the Miko doing a ritual dance.
