Yuki-Tsumugi Authentic Kimono Craft Town Tour from Tokyo

Walk around Yuki city, well known for "Yuki-Tsumugi", a fine silk and kimono craft!
This is a one day walking tour from Tokyo. Yuki city is just 90 minutes away from central Tokyo.
You can find authentic Japanese product and cultural experience in this unknown place to most tourists.

About Yuki-Tsumugi

Many people think of silk as something smooth and shiny, but Yūki-tsumugi is a little bit different and unique. Although Yūki-tsumugi is woven by silken threads, it is a luxury fabric that has rough texture.
The texture of the finest quality Yuki-tsumugi is the product of many master artisans’ extraordinary handiwork.
Carefully hand crafted through 40 different small processes by artisans,“Yuki-tsumugi, Silk fabric production technique” has been listed by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2010.
They are hand woven in "Jibata"(a loom with no legs) and the designs are small crosses of splash patterns. Warm, light, tough and free from wrinkles, the fabric does not fade or discolor easily, but increases its luster the more frequently it is washed and stretched.
